Jesus said - Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength, and your neighbour as yourself.

He also told us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them all He has commanded us.

We believe:

in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
that Jesus, God's Son and our Saviour, is Lord.
that the Bible is inspired by God, wholly reliable and relevant to us all.
that the Lordship of Jesus is revealed in the Bible, which is God's Word.
that all have sinned and fallen short of God's ideal
that Jesus died for all of us
that those who believe in Jesus will be forgiven.
that Christ rose from the dead, defeating death, and lives forever.
that all who believe in Jesus Christ are called to be baptised
that all who follow Christ are call to serve the Lord
that all who follow Jesus are called to serve Him in the community
As Christians, we are to bear witness to the love of Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values

In 1998, the Baptist Union of Great Britain issued a statement setting out the Five Core Values which it believed should characterise Baptists as they seek to be a Gospel people. We at BCBC have adopted these Five Core Values which are being:

A Prophetic Community: Following Jesus in....

     - Confronting evil, injustice, and hypocrisy.
     - Challenging worldly concepts of power, wealth, status, and security.

An Inclusive Community: Following Jesus in....

     - Transcending barriers of gender, language, race, class, age and culture.
     - Identifying with those who are rejected, deprived, and powerless.

A Sacrificial Community: Following Jesus in....

      - Accepting vulnerability and the necessity of sacrifice.
      - Seeking to reflect the generous life-giving nature of God.

A Missionary Community: Following Jesus in....

      - Demonstrating in word and action God's forgiving and healing love.
      - Calling and enabling people to experience the love of God for
       themselves.

A Worshipping Community: Following Jesus in....

      - Engaging in worship and prayer which inspire and undergird all we do
        and are.
      - Exploring and expressing what it means to live together as the people of
       God, obeying his Word and following Christ in the whole of daily life.
